MAY 17

WELCOME TO THE 10TH EDITION OF THE EUROVISION DIARY!

HAPPY CONSTITUTION DAY NORWAY!

By mistake, I said happy independence day yesterday…. Sorry about that, I should get my facts together…..

But you STILL suck at Ice Hockey!!!!!!Smile

The whole of Norway was in PARTY MODE yesterday, so were we, even though we’ve sold our soles to Eurovision, and couldn’t take part of the massive celebration out in the streets. But it was so damn cute with all the girls that were dressed in their National Costumes. Here is our H&S manager Tove with an additional add on. Hard hat and high-vis vest is normally not a part of the outfit.

And what a treat coming to catering today! Norwegian Food Fest big time, with smoked salmon, fresh salmon, shrimps, dried ham and smoked reindeer (no it wasn’t Rikki…….) and a whole bunch of other yummi stuff! And cake for dessert! Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!

Here is a treat for you old farts that have been working with lights so long that you actually knows the name of these fixtures!!

P 23’s! They call them pig faces  here in Norway, which is very funny.

Second day of artist rehearsals in the bag. Here is Albania looking poptastic. We do see a lot of violins on stage this year. You could say that there are signs of a Rybak syndrome here.

Yes, seriously! You do NOT want to be hit by one of the cranes!!!!!!

Greece in action. We try to create a unique look that works with the song for all the countries, using different types of effects and scenographic elements. The Greek look is mainly based on Jarags, and it looks REALLY awesome.

Then, some countries are adding bits and pieces themselves too. As Azerbaijan for example, that are bringing risers with built in High Res LED, with special made content. And their delegation contains no less than 3 Eurovision veterans, including Pavlo Grytsak who was the Executive Producer in 2005, Sven Stojanovic who directed Eurovision 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2008, and Per Sundin who was the Lighting Designer in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2008. In addition, they also have JaQuel Knight as a choreographer. Click on his name to see what he does when we he’s not here. PRETTY IMPRESSIVE!

Portugal going at it!

Meanwhile, there is peace and quiet in the crew lounge, since things work as they should, giving the crew a well deserved break.

That is quite a good name for a dimmer world, don’t you think? I wish I could tell you what is going on behind these walls…………

Since Mikki Kunttu is in town, I have to go to Euroclub tonight, so I thought the Norwegian lesson of today will be:

¨Dritafull¨ = Dead Drunk!

Imagine that………..
