Eurovision TelAviv2019 Logo Black

Welcome to the Eurovision diary 2019

May 12

Kaaaaaa Kaaaaaa! I just realized that I forgot to take the weekend off from this blog........ oh well...... there is so much to report about so let's do one today as well! Right now, we have huge problems with the security parameter! It seems like pretty much anyone can come in here and bug us!

May11 21

Like this maniac! Say hello to my wonderful dear friend Gordon Bonello! We've done 3 or 4 Eurovision Juniors together in the past.

May11 18

Or this strange creature. Marek Mill is from Estonia, but here working with Azerbaijan. I've done 2 Eurovision Juniors with him! Gordon is here with Malta by the way!

May11 17

And it gets worse! Troels Lund from Denmark is here with Malta and Austria. I've never done a Eurovision Junior with this crazy cat, but I did two big Eurovision's with him, if that counts!

May11 19

Mads Enggaard is also from Denmark, but he is here with Azerbaijan. I've done both Junior and big Eurovision with him, so I guess he wins! A crew shirt is coming your way sunshine!

May11 11

The second round of rehearsals are open to the press. I think they are quite happy with what we got to show.

May11 10

Norway on stage with mountains, northern lights and joik. The only thing missing is confetti!

May11 12

Malta on stage. Not sure what is the name of their song............... but they like green!

May11 13

If you don't like green, you can always go with blue, heavy fog and lightning on the LED screens!

May11 14

Or why not red? Red is always good! Check out the crunch from the Ayrton Magic Blade to the right!

MY11 13

Angels, heaven and wings can also be a way to victory!

May11 15

Or why not show up with a very clever set of mirrors and LED screens and rock our stage, like Russia does. You do NOT want to miss their performance. It's VERY cool.

May11 20

At one part of the song, Sergey goes into a water box. But since he doesn't like to get wet, he sends in his body double Tobbe every now and then.

May11 16

The night ended with the sneak opening of Euroclub. It involved a big argument with security about who can enter and who can not. So, it was short but intense, and we continued to the port for some drinks instead. Not home too late. Got to keep fresh for broadcast week!

See you cats tomorrow!

May 11

Hejsan Hejsan and Scooby Dooooooooo! 3 days to first broadcast........ what could possibly go wrong?????

May10 7

Jerry Appelt is in da house! He will host guided tours in his tunnel of love every day between 12:00-14:00 starting from tomorrow. Be there or be .......... not romantic!

May10 2

We have an enormous amount of tools in the creative toolbox this year. Here are the lasers we use for Switzerland. They put on a hell of a show with a hell of a song. There is a huge risk that Jon Ola Sand can take his bike from home to the arena next year!

May10 1

Here is Sweden on stage with the video walls opened just enough to let beams through from the back wall.

May10 6

When we open up the wall fully, we reveal no less than 527  Ayrton MagicBlades . It's truly a site for sore eyes!

May10 3

You can also bring your own sand painter and put her work on the LED screen if you like. This is what Moldova is doing.

May10 5

Or you can do like Greece and bring a lotus flower that expands with the help of video content.

May10 4

Or you can add pretty much every color in the world to your performance and hope that will do the trick.

The only thing we know is that one of the many tricks we are doing will lead to the victory for one of the 41 contestants. Or maybe not. Look at Portugal in 2017! Not a single trick, and still a win. So, you never know, and we are absolutely clueless where this show will go in 2020. It's all up to you viewers to decide!

May 10

8 days to go to the Grand Final and only 4 to the first semifinal! Pressure to deliver is ON! From all sides.

May09 14

Amir and Sivan start every day with a briefing with all of their photographers and pilots. We built a second viewing room for them, so they can go over all the notes and making all changes for camera according to the wishes from the delegation viewing room. Every single frame of this show is under the loupe.

May09 1

Meanwhile, the team in front of the stage is getting ready for another day filled with music. The delegations are in the best of hands for sure!

May09 2

Russia was in the house a couple of days ago! Ekaterina is one of my FAVORITE Head of Delegations! She always challenges us to the maximum, and always deliver with precision. It's a pleasure working with you girl! But where is my caviar????

May09 3

And Philipp Kirkorov is of course one of my favorite song writers. I know I'm not supposed to be bios, but then again, I'm famous for not caring too much about that...........

May09 4

It was great to see Sergey Lazarev again. Russia got the same together again as in 2016 and they put on a great performance. The three minutes that I am most proud of in my long Eurovision career is Sergey's performance in 2016. If you don't agree with that this is the best thing you ever seen, you are, how should I put this............. stupid?????

May09 6

Since we allow press in the arena now, we're finally allowed to show off our stage and all the funky things it can do.

May09 8

We're in the second round of reharsal's of the semifinals and things are coming together quite well. But we still got ways to go before we're ready for a broadcast. But we'll get there! We always do!

May09 9

All rehearsals are with full production. The last take of each song is with pyro. And we got plenty of that! Here is what we loaded up with:

10 pcs Le Maitre FreezeFog - G300 Heavy fog machines
8 pcs Ultratec Floor Pockets
24 pcs TBF Single Shot Flame Machines
24 pcs Explo GX-2 Flame Machines
20 pcs MagicFX Sparxtar, Spark Machines.
18 pcs MagicFX Smoke Jet
24 pcs pyroracks on stage, 16 ch each.
Waterfall trusses with 40 holders
4 pcs FireCTRL G2 Pyrocontrollers
1 pc MA Dot2 DMX controller
100 pcs FireCtrl field modules
6 pcs FireCtrl Relay Racks for Flame Units
4 pcs MagicFX Stadium Blaster for Confetti
4 pcs Sigma Confetti Cannons
2 pcs Universal Effects Wind Machine
8 pcs MagicFX Stage Fans
2 pcs Look Solutions Power Tiny smoke machines
KABOOOOM!

May09 10

Australia is putting artists on sticks and hoping to win!

May09 12

While Iceland are putting people in a cage, hoping for the same. I love them both!

May09 13

Tarmo, whom is a well known Eurovision fan loves it all! All of it!

See you cats tomorrow!

May 09

Hejsan Hoppsan and welcome to our day off! Since it was Indepenence Day yesterday, we decided to trade music with sand and water!

May09 11

At 08:00 AM, we crawled into a buss to go to the Dead Sea. We were just as fuzzy as this image and many of us brought pillows. The ride is 1,5 hours Israeli time, which translates to exactly 150 minutes. But that included a beer break at 09:30

May09 10

We were told to use sunscreen and drink a lot. So, after oiling up, it was time to get the drinks. You don't want to dehydrate! We didn't!

May09 9

We bought day passes at the Crown Plaza resort so this was our view for the day. The mountains on the other side of the sea is Jordan. So don't swim too far, unless you bring your passport.

May09 1

This water is one of the saltiest in the world. 1 kg of water contains 345 grams of salt! Sooooo trippy!

May09 3

So, you just walk out in  the water, fall backwards, and float. All day long! Just float. No problems.

May09 4

The sea floor is not sand. It's covered with salt chrystals that gives the water this cool color.

May09 5

Regardless what you do, you float. You can even sit in it. Didn't see a fish all day long though.

May09 6

The one thing you can't do is breast stroke. We all tried, but it's hard since your feet are not in water. And you should really not get this water in your face. Unless you hate yourself!

May09 2

Over the last 10 years they sold 1 air matress............. And we are pretty sure that it's impossible to drown here.

It was such a unique and cool experience to go here! So don't miss out on this if you happen to be in the hood! One of the coolest things I've ever seen!

Tomorrow we'll be back with reports from the glitter cave!
