Hejsan hoppsan lovely people! Here is today's report from the dream factory. It's still raining by the way............ not good for outdoor Segway rides...............

Powershop started to pull their cables today. They come into the venue from a door on level 3, then up this 12 meter tall scaff tower, to the top of the venue structure on Stage Right and Stage Left where we have our main dimmer areas. Not sure why we still call them dimmer areas........... I think we have 12 units in this set up that are actually dimmable........... First cable done......

This is how the door opening into the venue looked like 24 hours later.........

Powershop will run somewhere around 30 Km of cable before they are done. Please don't tell their stagehands that just yet!

All their generators, containers and tanks are installed in the compound, and the first delivery of 20 000 litres of diesel came this morning- all good gummisnodd!

Opposed to last year, we are trying a new thing this year, using cherry pickers that actually reach where we need to go. It does miracles with our schedule...........

The scaff for the commentator boxes is up. We're building a little over 40 boxes on this platform. Since commentators don't show up unitil the first week of May, I would say that we are in really good shape when it comes to the schedule of this part of the build!

Rigging is making sturdy progress and we started to add lighting trusses to the mix today.

FOH for lighting is also under construction up at the top tier in the far back end of the venue.

web016

We're doing it in two sections with lighting in the center section, and me and my tech team on a side platform. We'll use the blue box as a Gin & Tonic lounge with romantic lava lamps.

Remeber this handsome guy? You got it! Peter Angry Andersson is in da house! Last year he was my Technical Director for show (as well as my photo bomber), this year, he is here doing IT with Riedel! Versatile guy!

All the containers for the OB compound are in place. Right now we're installing power, AC and IT in them. This area is normally used as a parking lot for venue staff. They are not really happy about us turning it into a OB compound - tough luck!

Joan got a brand new camera this year, since we decided we should continue with the VLOG's that we started with medium success last year. Since we threw away the Ukrainian mono microphone from last year, hopefully this year's edition will be in stereo! Stand by, hopefully first VLOG comes tomorrow. Anyway, this is the result of me and Tarmo trying to figure out how the new camera works. Now we know................

Demora dois para dançar, mas leva apenas um para se divorciar!
